A person reads every one

Last updated 5 August 2026

There is no ticket system and no chatbot. Write to [email protected] and a person answers — usually within a day or two, and it is the person who built the thing you are asking about.

Before you write, try the field manual. Every instrument has one built in: tap the wordmark in the top-left of the app. It is the only help screen there is, and it covers every control group on the panel — no tooltips, no onboarding, no hunting through settings.

The things people ask first

The app can't hear my instrument

Check that microphone permission is granted in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. If you are plugged in through an interface, press INPUT so the app takes the plug instead of the phone mic — the label names the port it found. A pickup wired straight in reads truer than a room full of reflections.

My interface or MIDI keyboard isn't showing up

It needs to be class-compliant — most modern audio interfaces and MIDI controllers are. Many run entirely off the phone, no external power needed — the Arturia MiniFuse is an affordable example, and some models take MIDI DIN straight in, so a guitar and a synth can both run off the phone alone. Only hungrier gear needs a powered hub or a camera adapter that passes power. If a device requires a manufacturer driver, iOS cannot load it and it will not work.

Where are my recordings?

In the Files app, under the instrument's own folder — plain WAV and MIDI, readable by anything. Nothing is hidden in a private format. On the Mac they are ordinary files in Finder.

I bought it once — do I pay again on my iPad?

No. One App Store purchase covers your iPhone and iPad. The Mac app and the AUv3 plugin are the Rack, which is a separate purchase covering every instrument's desk build. See the rig.

I reinstalled and lost my pedals or packs

They are non-consumables and they are still yours. Restore purchases in the app brings them back on any device signed in to the same Apple Account.

The plugin doesn't appear in my DAW

The container app has to have been launched at least once so the system registers the extension. After that, rescan plugins in your host. In Logic and GarageBand look under Audio Units → Ferric. If it still hides, tell us your host and version and we will chase it down.

Refunds

App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — we cannot issue those, but tell us what went wrong anyway so we can fix it. Direct Rack purchases: if it does not run on your machine, we refund it within 30 days.

Bugs, and things that should exist

Both go to the same address. A bug report with the device, the OS version and what you were doing when it happened is worth ten that say "it broke" — and a good feature argument has changed the plan here more than once.
